The Leadership Principle
I am not afraid of an Army of Lions led by a sheep, I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a Lion…………... Alexander the Great.
Who is a leader ?
If what they say is true, the purpose of every leader should be to create more Leaders. It would then be fair to assume that we are all leaders in our own right – either established or in the making.
I have been a sailor since I was eighteen. In my many years of service, I have faced countless situations and worked with several individuals all around the world, slowly rising up to be where I am now. And I can tell you this with utmost conviction – that no matter which stage of your life or career you are in, no matter what your circumstances whatsoever, and no matter what you think of yourself or the situation around you, there is a leader in you , waiting only to be discovered.
Who will discover you, you ask ? Well it cannot be anyone but yourself, and its easier than you think.
Though the concept sounds very philosophical, it can actually be broken down into bits and pieces, and we can actually device a very workable model of how to turn you into a great leader. I am here to show you how to do it. I know that sounds arrogant, so lets see if I can deliver!!
Its a world of competition. This is not a blog filled with a whole lot of “words of wisdom”. In today’s world there is no time nor is there patience. The focus is on instant success, instant gratification and fast growth. You will have to perform at every step of the way and you will not fail. Once you do, you are out of the system or at best, lagging behind. And while you become successful in your career you wake up one morning and realise how much of your soul have been eroded because you were too busy ‘performing’.
In my blog I wish to address the very concerns that affect the present day leaders – that is you. And I am here to say that in all this rat race, with the right choices and with the right frame of mind, you can live a completely wholesome life. A life you will build for yourself which will be free of compromises and full of gratification.
Leadership is after all should be satisfying. Only then the efforts make sense.
Come, sail with me.
